We recently announced the launch of a new V1 event, The Chippewa Valley Rock-n-Roll Kickball Classic. We’ve been talking about doing this for about three years, and it seemed as though we finally had the stars aligned in a way that we could pull it off. After a significant search for the best possible location for the event, we landed in Altoona’s Cinder City Park – a great facility no more than a mile East of Eau Claire with four fields, a pavillion, a kids playground and more all tucked neatly among the trees. Obviously we generally come from more of the arts/music/film side of the track, so a sporting event is a new direction for us, but we think we have a pretty good formula worked out: 2 days + 24 teams + 3 fields + 7 bands + beer + food + $1000 in cash/prizes = GOOD TIMES. It all goes down on the first part of Memorial Day weekend – Friday night, May 28 and Saturday, May 29. Whether you’re a seasoned kickball veteran or you haven’t played since the third grade – this is the kickball tournament for you. So gather some friends or co-workers, maybe get a team sponsor, and get registered. Visit VolumeOne.org/kickball for all the details.
