Chance Meier's piece

Having your art exhibited in an important building – say, the state capitol – is something many artists would jump at the chance for, and this is now a reality for four talented young locals. Oh, and did we mention that they’re all still in middle school? Chance Meier (South Middle School), Taylor Jacobson and Hannah Froseth (Northstar), and Jesse Johnson (DeLong) will have their artwork displayed alongside 42 other K-12 Wisconsin students at Madison’s state capitol from March 6-19 as part of Youth Art Month, which is an annual observance to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. Contestants were asked to design a flag; the winning design would be made into a flag that would also be displayed at the Senate Building in Washington D.C. All in all, not too shabby.
