I recently posed a question to our some 3,000+ Facebook fans about what part of Volume One was most important. The magazine, the website, the events we produce, our Facebook/Twitter feeds, our videos, etc. I asked which of these things are most important to them as readers, and which they think have the most impact on the community. We instantly had several dozen responses from people weighing in on all sides. A fun string of comments to watch unfold. I asked this because I’ve been having kind of a tough time lately balancing all these efforts in my head. Where are we doing the most good? Which parts contribute the most to our organization’s sustainability? Which of these segments are most likely to be relevant in the future? And the worst, which of our mountain of ideas should we pursue next? With our limited time and resources, and with so many directions I’d like to take V1 in the future, it’s sometimes tough to determine how we should be spending our days – which parts we should be cultivating and which we should abandon. As always, your input is welcome: nick@volumeone.org.
