This whole Volume One project of ours – the magazine, the website, the events, etc. – has allowed us to do a lot of fun stuff over the years. We’ve written articles, taken photos, made videos, recorded podcasts, invented events, and tons more. But there’s one thing we’ve never done – at least not until the afternoon of Friday, December 11 – and that’s create a totally wacked-out live variety show telethon. A web-based telethon. That’s right, a Web-a-thon Telethon. Well from 1 to 4pm on Friday, December 11, you’ll be able to visit the VolumeOne.org homepage and see the fruits of that labor. We’ll be broadcasting a live stream right out of our World Headquarters in downtown Eau Claire, all centered around V1’s 2010 Membership Drive (going on now at: VolumeOne.org/memberships) and featuring tons of performances and special guest appearances. And I hate to name drop, *coughJustinVernon*coughcoughMikePerry* so I’ll just point you to page 15 for all the details. But here’s the thing: this is ONLY going to happen between 1 and 4pm on Friday, December 11 – so you gotta plan to watch it. Ask off of work (or at least take a 3-hour lunch), get out of class, tell your kids to find their own ride home from school, whatever – just set aside time to watch and be amazed/entertained/inspired. Did I mention there will be a world record-holding whipcracker there? Or the live animals, live art, and live magic? Yeah, just go ahead and set a reminder on your computer...Friday, December 11. Eau Claire’s first-ever web-based (and bizarre) telethon.
