By Kaz Kuroki.

An art exhibit featuring exploding peacocks?! What could possibly be more entertaining? How about a performance art piece with live painting to go along with it? UWEC fine arts major Kaz Kuroki is doing just that at the Infinitea Teahouse on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7pm. With music provided by Farms, you get more for your money, even though the event is actually free. Kaz describes the peacocks in his work as “a metaphor for the animal drive to flaunt and project an image of yourself.” Unlike a peacock, which is born with the ability to project a beautiful image of itself, we as people have an option of how we portray ourselves. (Known as peacocking.) The explosion part of the exhibit is referring to “the anxiety fueled feeling one gets when recognizing the absurdity and inevitability of peacocking.” Don’t miss out, the only way you might ever see a peacock explode is here.
