On Saturday, July 25, Wilson Park in Menomonie will once again be the host of a Sustainability Fair. Event organizers are planning to have more than 30 booths at the fair, which is designed to promote sustainability. Booth hosts will include the county and city government, organizations, and businesses that use sustainable practices. Local musicians Gary Johnson, Elizabeth Steans, and Sarah Zeibell will perform at 8am, 11:30am, and 1pm, respectively. Between musical acts, speakers will give presentations on such eco-friendly topics as bike maintenance, energy conservation, recycling, bike safety and local bike routes, local foods and cooking, and even an energy efficient car presentation by Chris Schneider, Hybrid Guru from Honda Motorwerks in La Crosse. Other attractions will include a farmers market, and an energy efficient car and motorized bike display. Food, provided by Golden Leaf Café and The Creamery, will also be available to guests. Admission is free thanks to Sustainable Dunn, an organization that thrives to meet “the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs.” For more information on the fair, or future eco-friendly events in Dunn County, visit www.sustainabledunn.org.
