Dressing Up the Arts

Eau Claire Regional Arts Center stages annual fundraiser

Nicole Humphrey |

The Eau Claire Regional Arts Center carries on their proud tradition of promoting the appreciation, expression, and growth of arts in the Chippewa Valley with a fundraiser celebrating all things fun, creative, and entertaining. The annual Jubilee 2009 will reconvene once more at the exquisite Florian Gardens. Guests will be greeted with a glass of champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and the evening only gets more magical from there. The stellar entertainment includes the powerhouse Walk/Klenz Sextet, playing original compositions, classic, mainstream jazz, and everything in between. The Eau Claire Children’s Theater will also wow you with selections from the revolutionary musical, 1776. Following an elegant three-course dinner with Spinach Stuffed Chicken, there will be a live auction featuring the artful creations donated by local and regional artists Allan Servoss (pencil drawings), Steve Immerman (glass work), David Knowlton, Bill Benson, and many others! Season tickets for the Children’s and State Theater will also be auctioned. You will also have the opportunity to win pre-paid cash cards ($250-$1000 value) at the Jubilee Raffle. If not for a night of amazing entertainment, come out and support local artists, because in shaky economic times, nothing is hit harder than the arts. Ben Richgruber, executive director of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, knows your donations will make a difference. “The Jubilee definitely sets the pace for the (theater) season. We have had some sponsors drop off, and while attendance is still generally the same, a strong Jubilee will make for a strong year.”
