If you STILL have not made it down to a Sounds Like Summer Concert on a Thursday night in Phoenix Park, the time has come. The excuses have run out. Time to pony up, people. Once again, along with season-long sponsors RCU, Hillside Dental, Action City, and Escape to Chaos Waterpark Resort, Volume One will be presenting one of summer’s most popular community events. This time around, the music acts are more varied than ever to appeal to all musical tastes – there will be bluegrass, jazz, big band, blues rock, indie rock, jam rock, regular rock, folk, and an unprecedented opportunity for summer English class extra credit – a performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. There will also be ice cream, hot dogs, beautiful sunsets, dancing kids, and that special sense of community that comes from sitting on a hillside with a few hundred of your closest friends.
