Fight for the Right to Film

Trevor Kupfer |

Given a film title and genre, aspiring filmmakers go out and produce a film, while gaining a critical community of fellow filmmakers, and inspiration that fuels the expansive possibility of future art. Former Eau Claire resident Justin Johnson has made a name for himself after starting Film Fights, a website with that very concept, a few years back. Being a filmmaker himself, Justin “wanted to create a place where we could all meet each other, bring more in, and most importantly compete to see who was the greatest of them all!” Dedication and peer reviews allow the possibility for recognition. “David Lehre, who made the huge viral hit MySpace the Movie was the winner of a long streak of Film Fights.” What could be more encouraging than a pool of dynamic creativity challenging filmmakers and globally uniting films?
