Volume One Special Coverage: Pulling Together While Staying Apart

Durand Music Venue Drops Disc To Buy Speakers

Tyler Griggs

Celebrating its one-year anniversary Sept. 13, Durand’s Our House music venue is releasing a compilation CD of Our House regulars and local music acts. Our House is an all-ages rock experience from out of the Durand movie theater. Given its first breath of life by bored Durand-ites and attracting bands from around the region, it’s on track to being that new thing in their town. All proceeds will go to funding a primary sound system (right now, they borrow). Bands on the compilation include the Silver Heart Club, Something to Do, and Now You Have Audio, and most tracks are exclusives. It’s available for $8 at Our House shows or for $10 (free shipping) by contacting booker and master of ceremonies Brian Griep at somekindofbread@hotmail.com or myspace.com/somekindofbread. Be cool, and do it not just for the kids, but to show your approval of Wisconsin’s DIY rock ’n’ roll crusade.
