UPDATE: Eau Claire City Council President…

tstanley

I have great hopes for the council now. Perhaps citizens will have a voice again. Kincaid and the others worked for developers, not citizens and taxpayers will be paying that bill for a long time. We can't blame taxes and cuts to service on the new group, that happened when Kincaid and her cronies ran the show and bullied and silenced other voices. If you are in disagreement with the new group's ideas, call them and talk to them. Good Luck to the new council!

Food is hit or miss. Service is rude and often worse. Prices are too high for mediocre cooking. The last meal we were served paired food that should not have been on the same plate and both were over cooked. We won't go back.

We ate breakfast and it felt like eating in one of the diners of the past. Service was great. Food was well executed standard American fare. They can fry properly and not serve you greasy food. The kids really thought it was a treat. Worth the trip.

We all got sick last time we ate here. I called, but they just wanted to argue with me. So much for courtesy. Food is mediocre and service was barely adequate. We will not be back. Find someplace local and skip the chain.

Food was pedestrian and greasy. Service was poor. Not worth the time it took or the calories.

Seafood restaurant - that is what they do best. There are a few dishes here that are world class. Calamari Calafia, swordfish with mango salsa, fishermans' stew, to name a few. The service has almost always been fantastic, I can't imagine what you would have to do to be treated rudely. Our waitress almost adopted my granddaughter and had a gift for her the next time we returned. Gorgeous restaurant, great service, fresh seafood.

If you haven't eaten here, drop whatever and head out. Try the crispy calamari, a Thai curry or even Pad Thai. I have eaten Thai around the world and this ranks right up there. Be brave and try a real Thai dish. They can adjust the "heat" level and even make the dish vegetarian - most of the time. We took friends who didn't like Asian food and they went back five times in the next couple weeks (You know who you are Ralph and Linda). Service is good, room is cold in the winter so go now.

I can't review the tempanyaki or the show, because I always eat lunch here. They are open only Wed, Thurs, & Fri for traditional lunch. They serve tempura that puts the others to shame. The shrimp yasai, flash grilled with fresh vegetables is amazing. The tendon sauce so perfectly balanced that I can't write about it without my mouth watering. If you like tofu or even if you don't, the agedofu, a crunchy tofu pillow topped with freshly grated ginger, served in a dashi soup is restorative.

I make better Cajun food at home. Just using Tabasco sauce doesn't do justice to the complex flavors of Louisiana cooking. Save your money and buy a Prudhomme cookbook. The service is barely adequate. The room is loud and not conducive to conversation.
