Reviewed: Toppers Pizza – Eastridge Center

This place just has flat-out better custom concoctions than the other pizza joints. The Potato Topper (with sour cream!), Philly Steak, and Chicken Cordon Bleu are the best. Really cool delivery dudes and chicks too, they're always really nice even when they're standing outside your door and its -10 degrees!

The whole "Hot 'n' Ready" five-dollar pizza thing is just too perfect not to take advantage of now and again. You walk in the door with five bucks and get a pretty decent large pepperoni, sausage, or cheese pie and you're out the door in like 30 seconds. Grab one of several sauce packs for dipping goodness. The pizza is nothing special, but good enough, and absolutely worth the five bucks.

Reviewed: Mancino’s Grinders and Pizza

I actually love Mancinos and its one of my favorite lunchtime spots in the area. I've never had the pizza, but the grinders are amazing and they have tons to choose from and plenty of ways to customize the flavor. Seriously good stuff and always really nice people. I usually get a chicken grinder of some kind and a side of those thick baked fries...

I was impressed by Palin and think its likely that she might help that ticket quite a bit. It does seem a little iffy that she be a "heartbeat" away from being president, but as a VP I think she has a shot at doing OK.

Reviewed: Altoona Family Restaurant

I've never understood why people are so obsessed with this place. Sure, its a good "family-style" restaurant but seems on par with others of the same variety in Eau Claire. Big menu with consistently good food, but a pretty standard interior. I remember the staff was really good though.

Reviewed: Ray's Place

Though it's really only known for the hot beef on a napkin thing, Ray's is a right of passage for any Eau Clairian. Just once (but you'll probably be back) you must belly up to the bar, order the hot beef (with a slice of cheese), slather on the horseradish sauce, and enjoy a slice of authentic Wisconsin. Choose from the wide array of single serving potato chips, a glass of your favorite beverage and you're in for one hell of a lunch.

Reviewed: Galloway Grille

I went to this place quite a few times when it first opened. Great lunches and pretty good dinners. The service has been sketchy sometimes - it just seems inexperienced and dumb at times. They did a great job with the interior of the place, and its so cool to have such a nice joint in a "redeveloping" neighborhood. It's on its way to becoming a great place...
