I really wish people wouldn't ride bikes…

I do my best to keep to the street and bike paths. The only place I have trouble with that is on parts of Bellinger St. that don't have the marked bike lanes, like at the stoplight for Bellinger/Madison, north to Platt St. I don't feel safe riding on the road there. Drivers don't even pay attention to pedestrians in the crosswalks by Mayo. Also as Platt St. curves around and becomes Oxford by Kwik Trip and Family Video. Hate it. That said, why wasn't a safety railing added to the Madison St. bridge when it was fixed up last year? I won't walk or ride over that if I can possibly avoid it. I'd rather bike up the hill to the High Bridge.

So much sadness! They just posted on their Facebook page that they are closing at Oakwood Mall. But plans are in progress to open elsewhere in Eau Claire. So there's hope. :(

After growing up in one and living in the other, I'm not surprised about the love for buffets in IA and MN. The casino ones are usually among the best and busiest.

Reviewed: The Living Room Coffee House (Mayo Clinic, downtown)

I work at Mayo downtown, and visit almost every day, usually in the morning. Everyone working here is so fantastic, and so cheerful and friendly. They really try to get to know their customers, and come up with fun ways to keep people entertained while waiting for their caffiene fix, like with their "question of the day." The space is always clean and neat, and if they are out of something, they always come up with an equally delicious substitute.

I could go for an old-fashioned diner type place! That would be fun! And not lead to inebriated patrons stumbling through my front yard at 1am. That's what I was worried about.

Swift opposition forms against Chippewa…

Oh it will never work! Obviously they're going to need more than one lane. One for slower moving floaters and one for passing, and how are they going to manage to keep the lines painted? We're going to have to train ducks to be traffic control officers to keep things flowing.
