WHY?

For some people, our annual Volume One Membership Drive is all about the V1 Card and its amazing deals you can use over and over all year (not to mention the other fun stuff you get in the upper levels). And that’s great, because those people are supporting an array of local businesses when they get out and use the card. But for other people, the Membership Drive is about supporting Volume One and our work in the community.

Every year we hear from people who become members simply because they believe in what Volume One does, and they choose a level they can afford based on how they perceive the value Volume One creates in their lives. Whether it’s because of the magazine, the website, or one of the many events we produce for the community – all free of charge – we feel loved when people let us know they approve by financially supporting our staff and work through one of the membership packages shown here.

Of course, Volume One is mostly sustained by advertising revenue from the local business community. But we’ve always liked the idea of being partly “reader-supported” as well – even though our publication, websites, and events are free to the community at large.
