Eau Claire's 141st Birthday Bash

The Local Store and Volume One threw a daylong birthday bash on Saturday, March 9 to celebrate Eau Claire turning 141. The celebration startedwith some EC Bingo. At noon there was a screening of the hour-long classic 1950s documentary film “Our Town Eau Claire.” In the afternoon there was a birthday presentation featuring poems from city poet laureate Bruce Taylor, a local song by Phil Circle, a short and fun address by City Council President Kerry Kincaid, a “pageant” reenacting the founding of Eau Claire by the Memorial High School Improv Team and, of course, cake. Throughout the day there was other activities like balloon animals, deals at The Local Store, and a “Pin The Axe On Eau Claire” competition where you can win up to 30 percent off your purchase.
