Book Release & Reading: Transnational/Turn

Join local Eau Claire poets as they read from their works, including José Felipe Alvergue’s new book precis (Omnidawn 2017) (copies available). He'll be joined by Sheikh Jammeh, a senior Creative Writing major at UW-Eau Claire, who focuses on contemporary and post colonial narratives around topics of personhood, identity, race, and lineage in an ever globalizing world and UWEC alum Emilio Taiveaho. Emilio was born somewhere between Quito, Minnesota, Ecuador, Wisconsin, and Finland. His work engages the intersecting conditions of dis-ease experienced by transnational subjects American society.
