After six months of planning, the Leadership Eau Claire project team assigned to the development of a Public Arts Council at the request of the City Manager for the City of Eau Claire, have developed a governing structure for the new organization.

Eau Claire Public Arts Council exists to enhance the quality of life in the Eau Claire area by supporting and promoting the arts through programs, initiatives, and displays.  We work to enrich the lives of the residents of Eau Claire through the acquisition, preservation, and presentation of artworks in both the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, and by supporting these works with educational programs and community events.

Eau Claire is a creative city, where art is integrated into and throughout all people’s lives.  The vision of the Eau Claire Public Arts Council is to animate our city, inform our citizenry, influence our community and visitors, encourage creative expression, and engage the artists in the Chippewa Valley and beyond.

The newly formed Eau Claire Public Arts Council seeks applicants for the Board of Directors. The governing body of the Eau Claire Public Arts Council will consist of nine voting members.   The Executive Board members will direct the selection, placement, maintenance, relocation, and deaccessioning of Artwork acquired through the public art program and is responsible for the selection and logistical management of public art projects.  The Executive Board shall consist of individuals with a strong interest in the arts, a formal professional background or employment in the arts, and/or experience with community-based organizations.  Board members will be appointed to staggered four-year terms.
