Head Start on Summer

SummerDaze will heat up Menomonie early this year

James Johonnott |

SummerDaze is back in Menomonie with several family-friendly events for everyone to enjoy. Brought to you by the Main Street of Menomonie organization, all of the event’s activities will be held May 16 in downtown Menomonie. This year’s theme is “Wild West.” Seminal SummerDaze staples will return: the bean bag toss tournament, arts and crafts fair, Chalkfest, wiener dog races, live music by the D Boys, and the children’s parade. New to SummerDaze this year are a kids’ bean bag toss tournament, a business category at Chalkfest, and a kayak race on Lake Menomin. The kayak race, held at noon, will start and end at Lake Bank Trail. Registration forms are available online. Clues to the popular Medallion Hunt have aired on WAXX 104.5 with Alex and Cora leading up to the main event day, and a list of the clues will be available online. Only registered participants are eligible to win the Medallion Hunt’s full cash prize. Main Street of Menomonie looks forward to bringing the town together with another great Summerdaze event.
