John Raymond Returns for Backstage Concert

Chris Macheichok |

The John Raymond Project is coming to The State Theatre as part of the Backstage Concert Series to bring you their UWEC-alumni filled band featuring Raymond on trumpet, Vinnie Rose on guitar, Scott Currier on piano, Jeremy Boettcher on bass, and Miguel Hurtado on drums. After releasing their first album in 2006, the primarily jazz group has created a unique sound that is sure to leave an impression. The group has performed to sold-out audiences at Smalls Jazz Club in NYC, as well as the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, and they’ve performed at festivals and venues throughout the country. Displaying original compositions, modern arrangements infusing pop and rock influences, and swinging jazz standards, the Nov. 5 event is a CD pre-release party for Raymond’s new album Strength & Song. The $5 show gives you the chance to hear and purchase the album four months before the release. It’s a show you won’t want to miss.
