Beyond the Skin

Janet Carson Gallery features Eau Claire tattoo artists

Paul Brehm is known in our community as the first glass blower around, and he has a long history of working with the first tattoo place in town, Skin Prints. When serving his duty as a visual arts committee member for the Janet Carson Gallery, he knew just what they needed when they said they wanted something “different.” Unexpected Eastern-influenced watercolors, mixed media works and shadow boxes, acrylics, and zombies produced with rich oil paints. Definitely zombies. Enter the well-known tattoo artists from Skin Prints, featuring their other artistic outlets in this exciting new exhibit set to open on April 26 with a reception from 6-7:30pm. Come support local talents J.T., Jenn Paulson, Jed Leiknes, Keith Kohrs, and Jesse Turner, who have a combined total of over 50 years of experience in this business. Impressive. Seeing as these unique works won’t be permanently a part of your skin, make sure you catch the exhibit before it ends June 1.
