The Lakely has been passionate about craft cocktails since they opened their doors a little over a year ago. Bar manager Jorja Vradenberg and bartender Logan Slaght are always looking for ways to share their passion and knowledge with customers. Inspired to spread their joy through an interactive classroom setting, they created the Wandering Spirits cocktail class series. The Lakely features a variety of farm-to-table dishes and cocktails mixed with spirits from local distilleries. Wandering Spirits informs participants of ways to create fun cocktails while supporting these local producers. Each class only has space for a few dozen people, making it an intimate setting where one may ask questions and sample the delicious mixed drinks. Previous sessions, such as their Old Fashioned class, have had such a large turnout that they’ve sold out. The most recent focused on mixing big batch party punches. Attendees learned how to create Wassail – a Medieval English drink made with hot mulled cider and eggnog – and rum punch batches. Afterward they enjoyed testing out the drinks while enjoying each others’ company. If you’re looking to learn how to create some new tasty cocktails and support local businesses, check out The Lakely’s Wandering Spirits Cocktail Classes. The next one is taking place Thursday, Dec. 14, and the topic will focus on Aquavit. Spots fill up fast, so be sure to reserve yours in order to be a part of this delicious, hands-on fun! Keep an eye on the calendar at thelakely.com for details.
