If you’re on the lookout for a chance to get out, taste some good beer, and support local hockey teams, hop right on over to the Hops4Hockey annual beer festival on Sept. 21 at the Hobbs Municipal Ice Center in Eau Claire for a plethora of beers to sample, a Hops4Hockey tasting glass, and lots of Brew Pub Lotzza Motzza Pizza. The Eau Claire Center Ice Club Foundation created this event to raise money to support local hockey programs – in particular, the UW-Eau Claire men’s hockey program. “Every gift, of any size, has an immediate and direct impact on sustaining the tradition of excellence in Blugold athletics and academics,” according to the UW-Eau Claire athletics website. Sponsored by The Pioneer Tavern and The Pickle, this event will feature hundreds of local, regional, and national craft beers. And what’s not to love about Wisconsin beer and hockey? Stop by Fourth and Water streets to check out these local beer businesses. Other sponsors include Festival Foods and Volume One. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door, and the event is only open to those 21 and older. Buy tickets online at volumeonetickets.org or learn more at www.facebook.com/hops4hockey
