Azul TequilaWow! My husband and I went out Saturday with another couple. We all were very impressed with the decor, service and food. Great margaritas, good portions and very reasonable prices. We will be going back with our family as well as recommending this place. TRY IT!!!! by ovenmittmama 03/15/10 |
Raw DealGreat space, cafe atmosphere. Love that you can get beer, wine and coffee. The cold food is an adjustment, but the raw lasagna was delicious. Didn't care for the coffee, but the espresso was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Very good local beer selection. One HUGE drawback though....they close at 6pm. by smithjul 03/13/10 |
Zanzibar Restaurant and PubFirst visit was a great experience. We dined late night and shared food. The Opah Lavosh was delish. Also tried the calamari, sweet potato fries and the chicken wings the the blueberry habanero sauce. All were fantastic. Great beer selection and huge drink menu. The staff was patient and accommodating of our large group. Big Thumbs Up! by smithjul 03/13/10 |
Acoustic Café, MenomonieThe hot chocolate was bitter because they use real unsweetened chocolate. All you have to do is add some sugar or splenda! :-) I love love love Acoustic and spent many many hours there studying when I went to Stout. Never had bad coffee... and the scones are amazing! by schwagelc 03/10/10 |
Raw DealGreat hot chocolate. Soup is also yummy. by treelizard 03/06/10 |
Acoustic Café, MenomonieI'm not sure how you can possibly screw up hot chocolate, but Acoustic Cafe managed to do just that. When I told them the hot chocolate tasted bitter and not at all chocolatey, they said "we could make another one, but it'll come out exactly the same." I told them not to bother. The coffee was also crap--not cold but certainly not hot, and weak. We had to go to Raw Deal to get coffee and hot chocolate. At least the chili was good--but they definitely lost a customer. by treelizard 03/06/10 |
The Water Street DeliAs someone who was desperately missing her favorite Syrian joint from back east, I can honestly say the food here is wonderful. Great Baba Ghannouj, nice falafel, really great chicken kabobs. The cucumber sauce is perfect and the garlic sauce will knock your socks off. I'm awaiting the day where they start making chicken shawarma sandwiches, and I'll be in heaven ;) by AltoonaGirl 03/06/10 |
Mike’s SmokehouseA little clarification: if you are from the southeast part of the US (as I am), this does not compare with Alabama- or Carolina-type BBQ or ribs. It does not have *any* vinegar involved. So if you are craving more southern-style BBQ, Mike's isn't going to please, because this is Midwestern BBQ. This does not make it bad, but understand what you're getting going in. .............. Now that being said, the Thursday / Saturday night Smoked Prime Rib special is to die for. My parents time their visits from back east so we can hit Mike's on Prime Rib day, and while they are usually very careful in how they eat, they nearly lick their plates clean :D. I'm giving it 4 stars based on the Prime Rib alone - I'm underwhelmed by their desserts, and because I'm southern, I am not the best gauge of the quality of their BBQ, but I know the place always smells heavenly. .............. I've never had a problem with service - everyone is friendly, and even when it's packed, you're rarely waiting for your food too long. This is a good bargain - lots of food decently priced with nice service. by AltoonaGirl 03/06/10 |
The Water Street DeliYes, I had my doubts, I thought we were getting another slap it together, after bar food place on water street, But the food is 5 Star, I was Amazed that I could Watch them Prepare my food, Making my food fresh, with fresh ingredients, watching them cut the Gyro meat right off the leg. and with the comfortable front seating area, with a huge T.v. to watch, it was a place that felt like my second home. The staff was eager to help me with my Home cooking of middle eastern food, the grocery in the back had all the hard to find items I was looking for, and I learned a trick or two from the guy there. So if your looking for a good place to take a date, or your family, I would highly recommend stopping in at The Water Street Deli. by BigCat 03/05/10 |
The Olympic FlameThe Food Was Good, I enjoyed it, but It was not like The Deli on water street, The feel at the Olympic Flame, is ok, but I would not want to take a first date there, The place could use some remodeling to improve there feel. I would recommend to stop in and try it out, you need to try everything once, I all ways say!!! by BigCat 03/05/10 |
The Coffee GroundsI'm a big fan. Good coffee, great espresso drinks, always delicious and interesting scones and muffins. Sandwiches are delicious. I like the fact that the sandwich choices rotate monthly. The soups are really a treat, sometimes interesting concoctions, sometimes more standard, but always awesome. Best thing about this place, though, is the beer selection. It's huge, they're constantly bringing in new beers and limited batches, and the beer guys working there are hugely knowledgeable. They need to re-rearrange the dining area, though, and bring back the window seating. Otherwise, one of Eau Claire's highlights. by Shep_Huntwood 03/04/10 |
Haymarket GrillAwesome. My experiences with Haymarket have been inconsistent (although the Martinis are always great!). Last night 4 of us ate there and I was impressed. The bread and flavored butter were delicious. All the food was cooked perfectly. The chicken dish I ordered was flavorful and tender. As always the northern-spiced ribeye was awesome. We enjoyed the desserts as well including a fried banana dessert that we really liked. The only item that was less than spectacular was the house salad. The dressing, tomatoes and cheese on it were perfect but the lettuce was an uninspired wedge of iceberg. Other than that, everything was terrific. by Cordy 03/04/10 |
Ray's PlaceA family friend said we had to try Ray's, that it was the best pub in town. Well we tried it, the hot beef sandwiches were okay, but the napkin thing was really unsanitary and the beef wasn't cooked good enough... we all got sick from it. We won't be going back there. ever. by syphina 03/02/10 |
Ray's PlaceBartender very rude, I actually left without getting food. I WON'T be back. by Tammy2 03/01/10 |
Blue Moon Family RestaurantThe place to go for a good value. Large portions of good food at reasonable prices. Is it a gourmet experience? Nope, but they do American food and do it well. by Cordy 02/27/10 |
Asia PalaceHuge selection of tasty food that was good and fresh. It probably helped that we went there when it was busy so that new food was being brought out all the time. The wait staff was friendly. I'm not a big buffet fan but they do it well. by Cordy 02/27/10 |
Azul TequilaLoved this place. My husband and I enjoy it for a fun night out with delicious food or we can take the whole family. Friendly service and great value for your dollar! by yoda99 02/27/10 |
The Coffee GroundsI stopped in to grab some coffee and buy some beer and cheese for a friend recovering from surgery. I asked if they had a gift box I could put my gift in. They said sure. When I went to check out, they told me the box(cardboard) and paper padding would add 15% or $8.00 to my purchase price. Are you kidding? Such arrogance should not be tolerated. I would recommend spending your hard-earned dollars elsewhere. by toddy 02/25/10 |
Asia PalaceHuge selection. Thus ends my discussion of this restaurant's finer points. I can back up what other reviewers said about a taste similar to the smell of manure. And it wasn't just one dish that tasted this way, but almost everything I tried. Can someone please tell me what it is that gives their food that taste? Please? I'd like reassurance that it was a legitimate seasoning, so I don't have to go on considering the alternatives. Also, the crawdads (which I was excited to discover on the buffet) were as bad as anything I've ever tasted. And yes, the prices were relatively high compared to other Chinese buffets. I know, the price includes sushi, but maybe offer a discount to us folks who prefer to not partake in ahi that tastes like it spent the day working on a dairy farm. by Shep_Huntwood 02/24/10 |
Texas RoadhouseService and food is inconsistent. Last time we were there my wife's steak was undercooked, so they took it back to the grill and recooked it, turning it into something akin to shoe leather. WHO DOES THAT? It is hard to comprehend the staff line dancing while there are people waiting to be seated. GET TO WORK! The kids like to throw peanut shells on the floor and their kids menu is fresh cooked with large portions. by Nadman67 02/23/10 |
