Raw Food World

Raw Deal
A local oasis for the raw food movement, Raw Deal doesn't cook any of its food. The menu, which changes daily, blends organic produce to create entrées near-identical in taste to heat-prepped cuisine. Made with locally grown veggies, you'll find items like creamy green enchiladas, stuffed Portobello mushrooms, and savory cabbage rolls. Specialty beer and wines are also on the menu. The shop also features a bakery and full service coffee bar. Check out the organic fruit smoothies and the key lime bars. Open Sunday mornings, catering services, and very vegetarian friendly.

Great space, cafe atmosphere. Love that you can get beer, wine and coffee. The cold food is an adjustment, but the raw lasagna was delicious. Didn't care for the coffee, but the espresso was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Very good local beer selection. One HUGE drawback though....they close at 6pm. |

Great hot chocolate. Soup is also yummy. |

The food is good, but incredibly overpriced. Removing cooking form the equation should remove some cost overhead, right? Also: the coffee is some of the worst I've tasted. On par with Menomonie Acoustic Cafe for sheer awfulness, though the espresso drinks are ok. Local beer and wine is nice and the space is fabulous. I've had one or two employees get a little preachy about food politics, etc, but otherwise everything is golden. |

Great coffee for that cup on the way to work, and the muffins are a treat (even though they aren't raw). Their "raw" entrees and desserts are a wonder, makes you wonder why we cook so much. And now they have beers and wines from Wisconsin, too. |

My favorite is the biscotti! The atmosphere is very comfortable and appealing for something different - this is a great place to go. |

I think this place is rather cool. I love walking in, it feels like I'm back in Seattle or some trendy west coast coffee shop. The food is tasty and fills the belly, and I have no problem sitting in there for hours catching up on some schoolwork or with friends. |

One of the BEST places to grab a bite to eat in the Chippewa Valley. Hours are a bit strange, so call ahead, but it's worth the bit of extra work. The raw "spaghetti" is amazing... If you haven't checked this place out, you're missing one of the true gems of the Chippewa Valley. |
