I seem to have had an atypical experience at the Goat. I will admit that the coffee was great, but after seeing the portions, I couldn't shell out the dough for those "sandwiches." Maybe they were amazing, though, so I won't factor that into my rating. The reason I'm rating the Goat so low is because the two women working during my first visit ignored me for an unreasonable amount of time to talk to their friends or other customers. I let that slide when they finally did greet me and ask for my order, but they were so dismissive and just not polite. I'll have a hard time ever returning...

Love the atmosphere of this place! Employees and owners are customer-oriented, and do whatever they can to ensure customer satisfaction. Amazing sandwiches, salads, and oatmeal. Vegetarian friendly! Love the coffee-some of the best in the Valley!

The Goat is the "Cheers" of Eau Claire. Seriously, everybody knows my name and they're always glad I came. I simply walk in and the latte is made, the scones are selected, the BS is shared, and we're all happy clams for the rest of the day ahead. The Goat is truly our community coffee house. No contest.

The Goat is the best place to go for oatmeal. You can put anything in your oatmeal----including ice cream!

The Goat is my favorite coffehouse of the valley. The sandwiches are fabulous, the tea/coffee selection is great, and there's even ice cream. The owner is frequently working behind the counter and is probably about the coolest guy on earth. Always super-friendly and helpful. There's literally nothing bad I can say about The Goat. They're consistently less crowded or noisy than Racy's/The Nucleus and have better hours overall.

They have amazing sandwiches. They are very vegetarian friendly and they have an interesting combination of sandwich choices. If you aren't into a particular sandwich selection, you can make your own- which is pretty cool. They also have a great selection of beverages. It is a great place to hang out at or study at. Also, the staff was very friendly (and the service was very quick).

Not only does this coffee house make the BEST mochas, but the owners and staff are wonderful. The owners demonstrate a daily focus on people and community.

Someone bought me a fancy sandwich at the Goat and we sat in the window - pretty cool! The espresso and cookies are really good too.
