The Creamery Restaurant & Inn

A strong commitment to seasonal, local, organic ingredients makes for memorable noshing at The Creamery. The Brick House Bakery and Café offers espresso, organic teas, and baked goods made with whole grains and organic flour. They’ve got casual fare for breakfast or lunch in a cool setting with Wi-fi access. Plenty of meeting space available. They also feature 12 inn rooms with king sized beds, double whirl pool tubs, and natural views to landscaped gardens or woods.

Had an amazing time at The Creamery. We were warmly greeted at the door and led to the bar area for a drink and appetizer before dinner. THe bartender was super friendly and chatty and was really helpful recommending an appetizer. My husband and I each had a great local beer and an unbelievable appetizer!!! It was butternut squash and goat cheese bruschetta and I am drooling thinking about it. Our server in the restaurant was also great -- very welcoming. My husband had a surf and turf of scallops and a lamb chop and I had halibut layered with pears on a bed of sauteed spinach and pureed butternut squash. Both entrees were amazing! We also ordered a side of fingerling potatoes. The first bite made me close my eyes and live in that moment for a while. They were THAT good! The wine selection was nice, the staff was nicer and the chef is wonderful! It was my birthday dinner and everyone there made it very special. I cant wait to go back! Oh yeah and it was expensive, but seriously, it was more than just a meal. I will gladly pay again for such a wonderful experience.

If this restaurant served this food in a "big city", there is no doubt in my mind that there would be a two-week waiting list for reservations. That we here in the Chippewa Valley can make a reservation a day in advance is fabulous. ....................... Let's be clear, this is not an inexpensive eatery. But that's not the point of it - this is a restaurant dedicated to higher-end cuisine, and they charge accordingly. (Though compared to "big city" prices, they are actually quite reasonable.) If the concept of a dinner that costs anywhere between $30-$50 per person (three courses without alcohol) is off-putting, then don't go. But don't give it a negative review, because that's unfair and not a reflection of the quality of the food or service. V1 quite clearly notes the cost of an entree here, and the menu reflects their prices. ........................ I never went to the "old" Creamery, but this "new" version serves some wonderful food that is delicious and modern without being too "special" (i.e. - while some combinations are unusual, they are appropriate and not bizarre). The ingredients are obviously fresh and prepared with care and expertise. ........................ The service is attentive and helpful, but not pressuring. I loved the late Native Bay in Chippewa Falls, but if it was still around, I would split my time between here and there equally. If you liked the food at Native Bay, then you will love the menu at the Creamery.

Ate at the New Creamery last weekend with some friends who wanted to try it out since it's now under new ownership and I can agree with Mr. K that this is the best modern dining meal I've had in Wisconsin . . . We had the 5 course tasting menus with the wine flight and found 5 out of 5 courses to be amazing! This on the heels of the newly closed Bayport Cookery in Bayport MN which I can safely say was eclipsed by the meal we had at the Creamery. Having eaten at the Creamery nearly 3 years ago, it looked similar to what I remember it looking like so I'm not sure what interior decor has changed much if at all but there is no question the food isn't even nearly the same as the former and we will be back at least monthly!

I don't know what all of the comments are talking about. It's isn't as luxurious as these people make it, it looks likes it is taking hits and you can sure tell. They are making less quantity of their food, and it isn't that amazing to tell you the truth. There are plenty of affordable restaurants in Eau Claire city that are cheaper and just as innovative. But if you are looking for a ride to a more "modern cuisine", please drive past this place and keep going to MN, because they won't cheap you out.

I've found The Creamery to be outstanding. The place is modern but very casual, and in a great little corner of "the woods." Sure, it's more expensive than most valley restaurants, but once you see what's on the menu and taste the food, it's not hard to see why. Definitely a destination to be experienced. If you love a great restaurant and haven't been to the Creamery, make it a priority, ASAP. And now that we're getting into nicer weather, it will be fun to make the short drive out there through the country to go. It's perfect summer evening activity.

It probably is the single most EXPENSIVE place to take a date (my meal upwards up 75 dollars for 2 people without tip added and consistent other times i've gone (reluctantly because i can't afford it)) and definitely not as good as the cities restaurants (fogo de chao, the lexington)! maybe the same level concerning HIGH PRICES! And the cheaper items aren't at all inventive and the few that are aren't very good!

Unquestionably the best food in the region, and level with the best in the twin cities. The food is consistently straightforward, fresh, and delicious. Those bemoaning the fact that you don't get a choice of soup or salad with your entree or that brunch is no longer a buffet are missing the point, especially since most dishes have several components and include things like greens, potatoes, vegetables, etc. Some items on the menu are slightly higher priced than what you might pay at Applebee's a few miles up the road in Menominee, but the quality and freshness is shockingly superior to anything else in the area (including similarly priced joints like Houligans and Sweetwaters). They even make their own mayonnaises (aiolis) from scratch. Paying a couple dollars more for something that much better is a bargain. Also, for the price, all the items are substantial in quantity, including the simple and tasty sides (~$6 and intended for sharing). Since the spring re-opening at the end of March, prices across the board dropped a bit and they added a number of moderately priced entrees to the dinner menu, including several hand-made pasta dishes (ravioli, fettuccine) and sandwiches (bison burger sliders, trout sandwich) for $10-15. Also, all the printed menus and specials change regularly, and the menu copies available online here do not reflect what is currently available. The pastry chef they picked up this winter is still putting out phenomenal plated desserts (again, disgustingly better than anything else within at least an hour of Eau Claire), including a napolean of nearly transparent crispy tuiles stacked up with fresh fruit and anise cream, loukoumades (warm greek doughnuts with honey and cinnamon), a chocolate orange hazelnut torte, and dead on ice creams (vanilla, pistacchio, creme fraiche) and sorbets (pink grapefuit champagne, kiwi fruit, mango). This is the only full service restaurant anywhere near Eau Claire that employs an actual trained pastry chef that actually makes every dessert on site, and it shows. Getting dessert here is part of the dining experience (I've even stopped in for just dessert and ordered a whole cake), and it is definitively not that piece of cheesecake that came frozen off the Indianhead Food truck last week with chocolate sauce drizzled under it that dessert lovers are subjected to elsewhere in the Chippewa Valley. Simply put, no one offers this quality of food in our area. Combine that with a gorgeous setting, inviting atmosphere, and an impressively varied wine list, and you get a place that we should feel privileged to be able to eat at. Give the Creamery a shot if you haven't been there in a while. You will be pleasantly surprised. One last note: this doesn't have to be "special occasions only" place. The decor is a clean, comfortable combination of country and modern, and is not nearly as "fancy" as many people convince themselves. It just as acceptable to get a burger and a beer as a full dinner with a glass of wine. And did I mention the gorgeous setting?

Try to order their Eggs Benedict that they served at the noon hour on Valentine's Day. Since it was lunch time--it wasn't as prices as this restaurant can be & it was worth the drive. You could order a side dish but this was more than enough.

I'm with wagger. Once was enough for this joint. Food was presented well, but overpriced considering there were no sides. The bruschetta was great. The scallops were gritty--and the bloody mary went from too spicy to drink to so bland that I might as well have eaten a tomato. Nice atmosphere especially outside.

great new updates-esp the bar. dinner is so overpriced esp considering you have to pay for a salad and the sides.

Even though I live in Menomonie, I try to make The Creamery "my" place to go have a drink and hang out. Non-smoking, comfortable, and unpretentious, it simply kills the other "fine dining" establishment in this immediate area. The bar is amazing, staff friendly, and the food awesome.

I had a delicious fig and pear starter dish at their brunch the other day. It was drizzled with honey and topped with chopped hazelnuts. So fresh and tasty. Also, I snuck a bite of my beau's french toast and it was so delicious! Really great texture and flavor, and served with REAL maple syrup! Beautiful presentation, too. We'll be back soon!
