Leftsa wraps for everyone! Is there a table overlooking the pond? |

They have worn out their good name. Twenty years ago it was THE place to go, but not anymore. They are commercial now with thier pie sales in every gas station./ Try another place save yourself the greif. |

I visited Norske Nook on Mothers day at dinner time with my Mom, my Aunt and my Grandma. It was the WORST experience and I REFUSE to go back. We had just finished a movie and the theater and we decided to seek out a piece of pie. We decided Norske Nook was the closest and we proceeded to go into the restaurant at about 5PM. There were probably 10 people waiting in the tiny lobby and the floor manager (who was seating)Did not even acknowledge us for about 15 minutes. As soon as everyone in front of us (and a few stragglers that came in behind us) had been seated, He told us it would be about 15 minute wait. We knew it would be busy and so we were patient. One family came in behind us and he told them it would be a 1/2 hour wait- even though they supposedly had reservations. When they questioned him, he replied by saying "I don't have any tables available and we have people lingering that we can't kick out". After our 15 minute wait was up the man asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar. We did NOT want to sit in the bar and we said we would wait for a resaurant seat. He told us 5 Minutes. 5 minutes later her told us 5 minutes, and 5 minutes after that he told us 5 minutes. Finally after waiting for like 50 minutes we were brought into the restaurant. Imagine my surprise when I observed 8 (yes I counted)empty booths. 2 or 3 of which were dirty (and stayed that way through our entire stay there). THe place was NO WHERE NEAR as "Packed" as he made it out to be. Clearly he was feeding us a load of crap. At this point all 4 of us were CLEARLY irritated and my Grandma mentioned to him twice that we did not appreciated that he kept changing our estimated seating time. He didn't appear to care at all, or do anything to try and satisfy us. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, but it took forever for us to just get pie and water. I realized that there were only 2 waitresses working on Mother's day! The pumpkin cream cheese pie was delicious, but I had my favorite rhurbarb pie and was sorely disappointed. We all laugh about it now, but as a result of that terrible visit I will never return to Norske Nook Brew Pub. |

This place is very 50/50, in my experience anyways. The dinner menu has never impressed me at all, I wish I could have my money back for those meals as McDonald's would've tasted better. Breakfast has been a success, great french toast! The pies and really the only thing I can say makes this palce stand out. They are really amazing. Also, if you like the log-cabiney, rustic feel, this place has it. Cold nights when their real fireplace is churning out sweet smokey smells are the best! If you are thinking of trying a new place for dinner, though, I would try somewhere else first; you're taking a risk going here. Fish fry was a little bleh as well... |

Went here for dinner with my parents on a Tuesday night. Total of 15 people in the place yet it took 20 minutes just to get a drink after we were seated. My 'wild rice soup' did not contain any wild rice that I could see... Had to ask for butter for my lefse, that should have been common sense at a restaurant 'famous' for serving it! Waitress visited our table only to take our order and drop off our check. Said if we wanted to order more after she dropped that check that we could and she would add it on but clearly had no intention of coming back to see if we did indeed want another drink... |

Not a good experience. Bad burger- probably full of fillers and not much of a burger "bite" to it. I think a lot of places use that "Cloud" burger which is pretty bad- We also had a chicken fillet that was cooked rare and some deep fried shrimp that weren't bad. I think they need some menu changes. Some of our friends have had similar experiences out there. Good atmosphere but bad food. |

The fish sandwich is perhaps the worst sandwich I've had of that type. It's fried and soggy, has little flavor or fish in the sandwich. The pies are fine. The food is overpriced for what you get. Not the Norske Nook I've known from the past. |

Northwood's before Norske was great. Now, it's ruined. For example, the Buffalo Chicken sandwich used to be a big chicken breast. Now it's a grocery store chicken patty. The beer fries are good, even though they only give you half a handful of them. Even the beer doesn't taste like it used to. And the pie everyone raves about? My piece last night was nothing more than pudding on a soggy crust. I am very disappointed the Northwoods/Norske Nook is a sad shell of what it used to be. |

I think this place would be much better if the outfits the waitstaff are required to wear weren't so ugly. I actually feel bad for the women who work there. I understand that it's the whole atmosphere vibe that they're going for, but that's taking it a little too far. Change the silly get-up's! |

Love the food, but the main dining area is so dark. Love the 'porch' overlooking the lake. Sevice could be better. |

I went here for my first time this weekend. The cabin-esque atmosphere made me feel very much at home. Their pie selections are amazing. With so many pies to choose from on a given day, you can't go wrong with trying one of these award-winning desserts. While I haven't had a meal, I will certainly be back to try more of their pies. |

Very nice touch of the north. We've enjoyed the great food and purchased the Flopp'n Croppie plus many other brews for gifts. It's a unique place - fun to hang out both in the restaurant as well as the pub! |

It's built like a lodge inside and outside, so it fits quite well up here in the northwoods in terms of architectural style. The food is alright, although the menu could offer a greater selection and entrees could certainly be cheaper. They do make up for it, however, with some pretty good daily specials. It's not the entrees that are the stars of Norske Nook, however. This place is all about the Pie and the Beer. It's a great combo. Even the pie alone is reason to come here. There's always over 30 different pies, made from scratch to choose from and they are pretty much orgasmic. The beer itself is good, too, largely because it's fresh. The brews aren't as sophisticated as Leine's, but there's a dozen or so beers brewed right on the premises. As far as beer and pie goes, it's hard to go wrong here. |

Mediocre food, grimy/stale atmosphere, and lackluster service at best. You can do way better than spending your hard-earned $$ at Northwoods. |

I like both the breakfast and dinner menus. The pie is also fantastic...the chocolate mousse is my favorite (it's at least eight inches tall!) I love the cozy atmosphere in the small lower level that overlooks the water. |

Best breakfast ever, love the authentic wraps and of course the pies speak for themselves. My hubby feels the pumpkin is the best he's ever had and I always get the raspberry cream cheese. |

The food is decent but not great. The service has sucked every single time I have gone there. I try to avoid as much as possible. |

I like the service and breakfast is quite tasty! I wish they would change the dinner menu though... |

I have always enjoyed the food here, they have great specials throughout the week like pizza and pitcher of beer for around 15 bucks. Good service. |

Sorta pricey for what you get, but their beer and pie is amazing. I really enjoyed their selection of food and their drinks; however, some of their food selections are too much for what you get. They have pizza and that is pretty decent. Their service is amazing and their bartenders are (usually) on top of things. I would definetly recommend them to anyone visiting Eau Claire. |

Cute little place, okay food. But GREAT PIE! My service was a bit dissapointing. |

Well I do not like the food here, but they have good beer and pie! |
by Raq724k |
I like the lefse wraps. My hubbie likes mashed potatoes and gravy. They really should use real whipped cream on the pie but they don't!! Sadly the beer is average. |
by smiler |
Sub par for a brew pub. The beer tastes watered down and the food is average. The deep fried pickles are good though. |
