On Friday, November 13, rising country star Jason Isbell took to the stage at The State Theatre in downtown Eau Claire for a sold-out show with opener Elizabeth Cook. Isbell, formerly of Drive-By Truckers, is known for "rustic twang, shuffling rhythm, piano, fiddles and lap steel swimming in a sepia haze; Isbell's voice is as supple, hushed, piercing and aching as it's ever been, wielded with the depth and force of a raging confessional."
