King Arthur has drawn the famed sword, Excalibur, from the mystical lake of Avalon. He now wields the mighty weapon in the retaking of his homeland from the Saxons. Plagued by the evil Morgana le Fay, warned by the Lady of the Lake, Nimue, and guided by the wizard Merlin, Arthur fights valiantly for Britain. Arthur's attentions are arrested by the lovely daughter of King Leodegrance, the Lady Guinevere, which adds romance to adventure. High action and thrilling sword-play contribute to the excitement of this stage play written by Karen Hurd. This performance took place on Friday, January 11 at the State Theater.
