The ninth-annual KITANAHPALOOZA 2010 exploded at UW-Stout on Thursday April 8 and featured performances from Northwestern Wisconsin's finest drag performers, including Miss Dee-Lovely, Felicia, Ophelia Junque, Jem, Vinnie, Dominique DeGrant, Deb U Taunte, Domino & the Nigglets, Tre, Sophie Nyland, and JD. The event, originally called DRAGAPALOOZA, was renamed in 2009 to honor Phimmanou Opboune, also known as Miss Kitanah Kim. Opboune was a UW-Stout student and well-known Wisconsin drag performer until his death in 2008. Proceeds from a raffle where applied to the Fairy Godmother Fund, which will be awarded to one UW-Stout student each year who demonstrates outstanding dedication to LGBT visibility and causes.
