Bryan Ritchie + Charles Matson
Charles Matson-Lume and Bryan RItchie, both studio art professors at UW-Stout each had their sabbatical show opening on Thursday, March 11 in The Furlong Gallery at UW-Stout. Ritchie's is titled moixAxiom and Lume's Desist in my pursuit (canto xxx(for Beatrice)) (shown above). They run through April 6. Photo by Leah Dunbar.

Monday 3-15-10 Haley Bonar + We Are The Willows @The Raw DealHaley Bonar doubled up with We Are The Willows for a show at Menomonie’s The Raw Deal eatery on Thursday, March 11. Packed show! Haley Bonar's melodic folk music has been heard at places such as First Avenue and The Walker Art Museum, and on 89.3 the Current and voted Best American Roots artist by the Minnesota Music Academy. We are the Willows opens the show with well-composed harmonies by guitar and various instruments to create a tasteful alternative sound.

Monday 3-15-10 Posters & Pin-Ups Artist ReceptionFeaturing the designs and prints of Postergirl Art and a current body of work by local artist Stephen Bateman. The posters are mainly for rock band and festival promotion plus some limited edition screen prints signed and numbered by the artists and bands. The Pin-Up series takes on the classic pin-up girl with modern twists and surprises, executed in a raw yet deliberate style with pop color and graphic elements. This series explores visual attraction, body language, the art of seduction and misdirection. The reception included live music by the Evergreen Grass Band. The showing runs at Tangled Up in Hue through April 4.
