ARTmobile projects you can do at home with your little ones to put some spring in your step

Project Title: “Tissue Paper Mosaic”

Summary
Kids can paint on glue and layer tissue paper squares to create different colors, pictures, and patterns.

Age Level
Project should be easily accomplished by ages 4 and up with help from a grown-up.

Approximate Time
30 minutes or less.

Materials Needed
Glue and water, paint brushes, crayons, tissue paper squares.

Educational Aspects
By layering the tissue paper kids will learn about color theory and the art of hodge podge/collage.

Objectives/Outcomes
• Learn about color mixing though the layering of tissue paper.
• Practice fine motor skills needed to paint on glue.
• Create a fun picture or scene with tissue paper squares and crayons.


Project Title: “RAINBOW”

Summary
Children will make a paper rainbow, which can be decorated with beads (attached to strings) and cotton “clouds.”

Age Level
Project should be easily accomplished by ages 4 and up with help from a grown-up.

Approximate Time
30 minutes or less.

Materials Needed
Construction paper, card stocks, water colors/ markers, scissors, tape, glue, cotton ball, strings, hole puncher, beads.

Educational Aspects
Kids will learn some skills such as beading, cutting, coloring and how to tie.
