The Children’s Museum of Eau Claire has launched a series of Special Kids Day events during which the museum will make extra efforts to accommodate kids with special needs. “During these events, the museum is closed to the public and space is limited to create a safe and welcoming environment and relief from extra stimuli,” the museum announced. “Visitors will enjoy free admission to all three floors of the museum and a pizza party dinner, modified sound and lighting, and extra staff and volunteer support.”  The events will also allow parents to connect with each other and community resources. The lineup of Special Kids Day events and their themes are as follows:

Monday, May 8, 5-6:30pm (Astronaut Camp)
Monday, October 2, 5-6:30pm (Science Lab)
Monday, Dec. 11, 5-6:30pm (Holiday Workshop)

Space is limited at these events, so registration is required. To learn more or register, visit childrensmuseumec.com or call (715) 832-5437. Special Kids Day is part of the museum’s Play for All program, which is designed to make the museum accessible to everyone. It includes Family Free Nights, reduced-price memberships, scholarships for school field trips, and more.
