4 Family Goals you can actually stick with in 2016

With the dawn of every New Year, people make resolutions to change themselves, and sometimes the world, for the better. But all too often, the goals are too lofty and the noble intent falls by the wayside. Rather than waste those New Year’s resolutions, consider new family goals that you can stick with:

1. Give Back

Spend one day a month volunteering together as a family. Not only will this strengthen your family bonds, but also you’ll be doing incredible things for the community. Check out chippewavalleyfamily.org for a full list of volunteering opportunities here in the Chippewa Valley.

2. Spread Kindness

Strive to spread a little joy around our community by simply seizing little moments to make a stranger smile every day. Give them a compliment or hold the door for them. It doesn’t take much to make a difference.

3. Capture Memories

Take pictures and actually get them printed. Services like groovebook.com make the process easy and painless to save your photos from living in your phone for all eternity. However, don’t just take them – get in them.  Stop hiding behind the camera because you don’t think you’re photogenic. You are. We promise.

4. Unplug

The world, your kids, your partner; they’re all just dying for your attention. Put the electronic crutch down and get in there, slugger. Reserve special time every evening for your family to unplug and connect … with each other.
