Take THAT bike thieves!

A couple of weeks ago, I was riding through downtown and looked up to see a bike in a tree.  Yes folks, in a tree. Once I got over trying to figure out how one would get the bike out of the tree without hurting the bike or the self, I thought of how ingenious an idea this was. After hearing about a rash of bike thefts last year, this seemed like a great way to keep the bike thieves away. Creative parking also is efficient parking when few places are available to lock up. The thing I really like about it, though, is the public artiness of it all. Later that week, another bike was locked and suspended vertically against the fence outside of Burracho's on Water Street. Currently, the iron tree cage in front of Brother's Sports Bar seems to get the most action. If you have had any sightings, leave a response on this post.
