After posting about the City Pages's look at the history of the Menards jingle (here and here), Jeni Grouws left a comment about her father – Bob Holtan – the lyric writer for the home improvement-hawking tune. We reached out to Jeni, who then generously offered to record her dad actually singing the jingle in its entirety – including the only sometimes heard full lyrics.

So we said, "Yes, please."

And now we have the video above – the Menards jingle, sung by the bard who penned it so long ago. Jeni, who works with her dad at KDEC fm 100.5 in Decorah, Iowa, says he's a really humble guy, and that it's nice to see him get some props for what has to be one of the midwest's longest running ad jingles. And speaking of props, the City Pages just ran an interview with Bob this week.

So thanks, Bob. And thanks, Jeni!
