As we close out the year that was 2013, the Badger football team, the Green Bay Packers, and the Badger basketball team have made it an awesome time to be a Wisconsin sports fan.

The Badger football team, ranked 19th in the Nation, play the 8th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks in the Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day at Noon on ABC. Bucky fans will be decked out in red to show their support on Wednesday, January 1st, when Bucky has a chance to finish the season as a top 15 team with a win.

The Green Bay Packers, who have had a crazy season due to injuries, still have a chance to contend for the Super Bowl if they can beat the Bears on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Pack started 5-2 before losing QB Aaron Rodgers and then went winless for 5 straight games. "America's Team" has won two of their last three games and with a win on Sunday, they can clinch the NFC North Division and make it into the Playoffs for the fifth straight year. Rodgers will return to the action on Sunday, and you can bet that Packer fans will be out in full force supporting the Green and Gold.

The Badger basketball team, undefeated with a 12-0 record, is the fourth ranked team in the Nation and are one of the most intriguing stories in college basketball. Bucky should improve to 13-0 on Saturday when they play the Prairie View A&M Panthers. Bo Ryan and his squad will see some tough games in January, but the true test to see if they could contend for a National title comes on Saturday, February 1st when they face a 3rd ranked Ohio State team at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Let's hope the Packers and both Badger teams get wins over the next week, but no matter what happens, it's an awesome time to be a Wisconsin sports fan.

*It should be noted that the Milwaukee Bucks have the worst record in all of pro basketball, which means they should get a high lottery pick and potential franchise changing player in the 2014 NBA Draft held in June.
