Community radio stations WHYS 96.3 and WIEC 102.7 are hosting Amy Goodman and Denis Moynihan on their nationwide speaking tour to mark the 16th anniversary of the daily, independent, global TV/Radio news hour and to launch their new book, The Silenced Majority: Stories of Uprisings, Occupations, Resistance, and Hope.   Amy Goodman will speak at noon on Friday Sept. 21st at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 421 South Farwell Street in Eau Claire.   Tickets are $10, available at the door or in advance at www.WHYSRadio.org.

Amy Goodman will speak about Democracy troubles in an election year, going beyond the mainstream media’s obsessive focus on the latest poll numbers and candidate gaffes, to examine how people are organizing; the impacts of restrictive voter ID laws that are making it harder to vote; and how the massive influx of campaign cash following the Citizens United decision is changing how our democracy works. Book signing to follow. Proceeds help fund WHYS and WIEC community radio stations.
