Believe it or not, it’s been about 365 days since we stuffed a whole dang store into the front of the Volume One World Headquarters – The Local Store. And we stuffed that store with all manner of local stuffings from books and music from area artists to our own line(s) of local t-shirts and art prints to all kinds of Wisconsinish miscellany. And since we’re so proud of our little mercantile toddler (and the support you’ve shown it) we’re having a party. For two whole days.

We’re throwing The Local Store’s First Birthday Frenzy on Friday Nov. 4 (10am–9pm) and Saturday Nov. 5 (10am–5pm) right here at 17 S. Barstow Street in downtown Eau Claire. And you are invited. All of you.

We’ll have birthday cake and snacks and stellar music, so don’t feel like you need to bring anything. We’ll also give you a chance to win some awesome savings – simply by thrusting your hand into a box and pulling out a card offering you 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, or the coveted 50% off your savvy, well-thought-out purchase of a fine local product. The store has come a long way over past year as we’ve worked hard to gather as many locally produced and locally focused goods as we can get our little hands on. We now have twice as much music, three times as many books, four times as much art, five times as many tees, and a whole bunch of stuff we didn’t even have when we first opened.
