Congrats to Colfax-based comedy juggling duo In Capable Hands (aka Steve Russell and Kobi Shaw) – they're packing their bags (full of juggling paraphernalia) and heading to America’s premiere comedy club, Caroline’s On Broadway in New York, having qualified for the WQXR Classical Comedy Contest (Tuesday, Nov. 8). The juggling duo has been handed the rubber chicken of a lifetime, and it wasn’t easy.

They had to submit multiple comedy routines that somehow involved classical music – such as a scarf juggling routine where they dance on tip-toe to the Nutcracker Suite. For a second act, they attached tuned front desk bells onto Steve and he attempts to play the man-eating classical Christmas tune, The Carol of the Bells. And lastly, they play the William Tell Overture by whacking each other over the head with musical plastic tubes. Check out the video below for clips of those stunts and many others.

The contest will air live both on television and radio in front of a panel of celebrity judges. When it comes to winning the contest Steve says, “We have no illusions of winning. But for us, getting this opportunity is a win in itself.”
