Tandem bike scene to explode this weekend

Tandem bike enthusiasts, seen here possessed by uncontrollable tandem delight.

Calling all tandem bike riders! If you've been looking for an excuse to bust out the ol' two-seater, well get ready to get excited, because this weekend the tandem bike group known as Couples On Wheels (or COWs) is hosting its annual Spring Rally in Chippewa Falls, May 20-22. The Rally will play host to over a hundred tandem riders, including some from out-of-state groups like the PIGs, LOONs, GOATs, and CATs (seriously, there's a bajillion of these funkily named groups), and if you show up in time to register, you can join them on their merry, paired cycling adventure.

There are rides happening throughout the weekend, including a Friday evening ride with a stop at Olson's Ice Cream Parlor and a figure-8 loop ride on Saturday which will run through the orchards of Autumn Harvest and River Bend wineries. The rides seem to be a "choose your own pace and route" kind of thing, so they're worth checking out no matter how challenging you want your tandem biking to be. If you want to see a full breakdown of what's happening at the rally and some info on how to register, check out this link
