THE ROLLER GIRLS » The Chippewa Valley Roller Girls are at it again with the 2nd home bout of their very first season — this time against the La Crosse area's Mississippi Valley Mayhem. Doors at 5:30pm. Bring your folding chair for track-side seats. (Eau Claire Indoor Sports center, 3456 Craig Rd., Eau Claire; Sat. 6:30pm; $6 in advance, $8 at the door)

A New Years Party

 Hmong New Year Celebration: Celebrating the rich Hmong-American culture through Pov Bov ball toss, performing arts, crafts and food. Traditional attire encouraged. Athletic jackets, ball caps and baggy pants are not allowed. Music performers: AlleyKatz.  A Night of Gluttony: A Taste of the Arts Show: Featuring painting, photography, glass and metal sculptures by Brian Duerkop, Eric Lee, Corey Jevne, Steve Bateman and Josh Dolan-Neill. Special guest: Laurie Bieze. Live music by Kyle Skarih, Chris Thon and Jim Pullman. This event is hosted by the Art Cartel. The Daredevil

 The Daredevil Christopher Wright: Local indie pop band The Daredevil Christopher Wright doesn't dramatize the agonies given them, they do face the weighty issues of cancer, death, and loss with a realistic and offbeat tone. Their joyful music is layered with the profundity of small moments that flavor life. (The Cabin, Davies Center UWEC; Sat. 8pm; free)
