If you’re looking to go out tonight, stop by the Bottle & Barrel in downtown Eau Claire for what will easily be the Chippewa Valley’s most unique show in all of 2010 thus far. Saxophone juggernaut Sue Orfield (read, listen) is teaming up with the guitar-picking flying fingers of Greg Gilbertson (read, listen) for a show at Eau Claire’s newest live music venue. Orfield’s music (which you voted the Valley's best jazz in 2009) is all over the board from blues to jazz to pop and beyond, while Gilbertson (whom you voted 2009’s best folk artist) lets his hands do the talking singing exploding with his intense finger-style guitar playing. And the Bottle & Barrel is really making a go of it with live music, picking up some of the slack left behind by certain other bars. The show’s at 10pm, details.
