Arts Madness: $10 Tickets!

The photo shown above displays but of the performers in the State Theater’s roster of 2009 shows. If any of the ‘09 shows look good to you, perhaps you’ll be interested in the State’s “March Madness” one-day discount ticket extravaganza of crazy awesomeness. On March 10, from 10am to 10pm, all remaining shows in the theater’s schedule are just $10. That’s a lot of tens. The 12-hour event will require you to look ahead on ECRAC’s calendar for the seven remaining shows. Four Bitchin’ Babes, a blend of estrogen-fueled comedy and harmony, comes up right away on March 11; the Grammy-winning voice of Linda Davis arrives on March 19; March 26 brings action-packed radio drama The Intergalactic Nemesis; Patrick Combs’ stand-up comedy act Man 1, Bank 0 hits the stage April 14; the following evening is the Juilliard-trained Ahn Trio; and the classic comedy stylings of Second City Touring Company polishes the season off May 7. The promotion is undoubtedly a steal, as you’re looking at more than 50 percent off in some cases.

Of the discount event, ECRAC’s executive director Ben Richgruber says, “We want to allow people who might be having a hard time affording tickets the opportunity to see some quality entertainment. State Theatre 1, Lousy Economy 0.” Zing!
