Yeah, yeah, yeah. So what?

I have to admit, as someone who has his mind made up as far as the whole “voting for our next president” thing is concerned, last night’s debate was kind of a snoozer. Not as blank-stare-inducing as the last one (with that grey fox Tom Brokaw driving the discussion train), but kind of boring. It’s being called “personal” and “feisty,” but those terms are excruciatingly relative. I guess I should stop expecting one of the candidates to dive across their desk and clutch their opponent’s throat – like the old days. Lincoln and Douglas did that all the time, right?

Maybe I’m being charmingly naive here (feel free to point that out with multiple paragraphs of comment), but are there really enough undecided people out there paying attention? I know there’s  a scientifically estimated ga-billion-jillion Americans out there who have no idea who’s running for office, but how many people (who care) are truly on the fence? I just have a hard time believing there’s enough undecided citizenry to make a difference at this point.

I guess it’s just fun to see these guys make each other smirk. And on a side note, the 5-second pre- and post-debate banter is hilarious and weird. I’m so glad they tape that stuff.
