Jungle: Hard-driving, funky, dancy drum ‘n’ bass? Or an organic techno conspiracy with reggae icing on top? This edgy genre fresh from the primordial soup of sounds suggests lots of labels, but doesn’t meet any of them too certainly: drum ‘n’ bass, hip-hop, techno, reggae, dub, trance, jazz, ethnic African rhythm, and more. Now, One Love Productions presents Black Friday Beats, a night of Jungle, techno, and house in which to sink in and dance to, with junglists MC Brace, MC Hyde, Catalyst, and Josh G, as well as techno/house spinners BluePauly2, SWAE, DJ L, and dirtydub. MC Brace is an internationally respected Jungle MC, while MC Hyde has been bringing hip-hop and drum and bass to the Midwest for eight years,  performing with Ed Rush, Bad Company, and Wu Tang Clan’s Killah Priest. Catalyst is an original member of Konkrete Jungle Minneapolis, a bi-weekly drum and bass night of Minneapolis’ First Avenue nightclub. He is also the director/producer of Future Sound, an independent documentary on Drum and Bass subcultures in the UK and US. Also commanding the stage is Eau Claire junglist Josh G, who has been DJ-ing the Chippewa Valley’s electronic music scene since 1999.
