Sherman Star River Run

The Sherman Star River Run is a self-timed 2 mile fun run/walk to benefit the students of Sherman Elementary School. The course begins at Owen Park and runs along the scenic Chippewa River Trail to Phoenix Park. From there, participants will loop back along the trail back to Owen Park. This is a rain-or-shine event. No refunds will be given. Held in late September.

Southview Bear Crawl 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk

Two course distances are offered. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of an inclusive playground so children of all ages, cognitive levels and abilities can play equally and break down barriers during playtime. Race Starts at 9am, with packet pick up at 7:30am. Held in early October.

A 10k, 5k, and one mile fun run in support of the Autism Society Chippewa Valley. Part of Altoona's Cinder City Days celebration. Held in mid-June.

Speedy Eity Run/Walk

Includes 1,4 and 7-mile run/walks. The 7-mile registration begins at 7 a.m.; subsequent races follow. Go to active.com and search Speedy Eity to see the full schedule of events. A free Kids Fun Run, geared toward youth ages 10 and younger, will be held after the races. Also new this year are fun activities for the entire family, including kubb and a live DJ, as well as a food booth. Held in early July.

Winterfest Cold & Bold Fun Run/Walk

A 5K run/walk to benefit the Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire YMCA. This event offers participants an opportunity to enjoy a scenic 3.1 mile race course groomed on little Lake Wissota. If you enjoy snowshoeing, enjoy a one mile snowshoe run walk. Snowshoes provided. The snowshoe event is free and open to everyone following the fun run/walk. Race day registration starts at 9am. Run/walk starts at 10am. Held in late January.

Zombie Fun Run - Benefit for Girl Scouts

The Zombie Run happens at dusk and is roughly a 2-mile course that ventures into the zombie infested woods and trails of North Lowes Creek, where previous haunts have been encountered in days past. This is not a hard core run, but runners will face natural obstacles and other challenges as they flee the attacking zombies while attempting to successfully cross the finish line. Held in October.
