Art Exhibit: Far from the Madding Crowd, Works by Allan Servoss

Allan Servoss spent the best part of fall and winter 2017 to 2018 creating spaces to retreat. His show will feature over two dozen new drawings in colored pencil. Allan has practiced art for 40 years. A Montana native, he currently lives with his wife Gail east of New Auburn.

Although the imagery is rooted in nature and in particular - forest and water subjects - the style is abstract in direction. The mediums used are oil on canvas, acrylic and oil paint stick on canvas and a unique medium incorporating oil on Plexiglas mounted over oil pastel on linen mat board. The work expresses a sense of personal freedom.

Rug Hooking Guild

The Tree City Guild Rug Hook Crafters meet weekly on Tuesdays at the Chippewa Valley Museum. Rug hook crafters use a cutter to prepare strips of material, mainly wool, which are then hooked to monk's cloth set on a frame. The Tree City Guild welcomes new members.
