Creative Economy Week

Attend throughout the week celebrating and furthering Eau Claire's creative economy. Presented in partnership with Arts Wisconsin, Creative Economy Week is your chance to support and contribute to our local creative economy. Events will be presented in partnership with the cities of Eau Claire and Altoona, as well as other local partners.

Mother's Day Brunch

Kids and husbands; take the reins and make plans to celebrate Mom with us at The Lakely. Your wife/mother will enjoy one free mimosa during brunch, though she undoubtedly deserves much more than that. Live music by Nick Seeger from 10am - 1pm.

Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast and Basket Raffle

Menu: Cascading Chocolate Fondue Fountain with Fruit, Pancakes, Baked French Toast Casserole, Scrambled Eggs with optional salsa, hot sauce and/or cheese, Sausage, Fruit Cups, Juice, Milk and Coffee. By reserving ahead of time, breakfast can be served at your table.

15th Annual "The Past Passed Here" Living History Event

Experience the 1700s and 1800s through living history in authentic fur trade camps, and a mobile lumbering museum. Hands-on activities and games. Blacksmith, porcupine quill artist, beading and weaving artists, and more. Shop trader's row for old-fashioned toys, furs, leather goods, and clothing. Rustic food, root beer floats, popcorn, and rock candy.

Floral Water Slide Decals Bracelets

Create a bracelet to cherish forever. In this class, you will cut and place floral themed water slide decals onto the lightly colored pre-fired glass pieces provided. This is a class perfect for Mother’s Day. After class, the pieces will be fired in the kiln and glued onto a delicate silver bracelet.

Discourse: Modern Dance & Writing

This three-part event features both modern dance and writing. Each portion begins with a dance performance set to the words of local author BJ Hollars. Following each performance will be a discussion of the creative process, the artistic product, as well as how dance relates to Eau Claire's creative economy. Discussion will be open to questions from the audience.​​

Shire of Shattered Oak (SCA) Meetings

The Shire of Shattered Oak is a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages attend events which feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes & workshops, and more.
