Rock Fest 2017

Menomonie Farmers Market

Since 2000, this market has seen a remarkable growth in participation and sales. Farmer participation has increased from an average of 3-4 vendors in past seasons to 20 vendors at the peak of the summer harvest. A typical market day this past season had 15-20 farmers selling everything from vegetables to fruit, eggs, meats and handmade crafts.

Community Volunteer Playground Build

The Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley is building a playground and needs 200+ community volunteers. Volunteers will assemble playground pieces, mix concrete, move mulch, and other tasks. Wear comfortable work clothes, closed toe shoes, and leave valuables at home. Youth activities, safety equipment, breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Wisconsin is home to 7 species of bat, four which are threatened, and three of which are listed are Species of Greatest Conservation Need. Learn about Wisconsin’s bat species and how to conduct acoustic monitoring and bat roost monitoring surveys in the Chippewa Valley. This is a hands on, field work study.
